Wathiqaty Insurer API
Introduction
Wathiqaty (وثيقتي) is an insurance marketplace in Egypt: customers compare medical and car insurance packages, buy online, and manage their policies, cancellations and claims in the Wathiqaty app. Your staff already handle all of this in the Wathiqaty portal. The Insurer API lets your own systems do the same work automatically.
| You want to… | Use |
|---|---|
| Book every policy sold on Wathiqaty in your core system | policy.issued webhook + Policies |
| Store your policy number against ours | Set your policy number |
| Keep prices in sync with your pricing engine | Replace pricing rules |
| Decide on cancellation requests and refunds | Cancellations |
| Process claims in your claims system | Claims |
| Reconcile premiums and commission | Finance and Bordereaux |
How it fits together#
- A customer buys one of your packages on Wathiqaty. Wathiqaty prices it from your rating rules, verifies the customer's identity (eKYC) and captures the payment.
- Wathiqaty issues the policy and sends you
policy.issuedwith the full policy: policyholder, cover, premium breakdown and eKYC evidence. - Your system books it and stores your policy number on it (
PUT /partner/policies/{id}/external-reference). - Over the policy's life you receive cancellation requests and claims as webhooks, and answer them through the API.
- Each month Wathiqaty requests settlement of its commission; you reconcile with the ledger or the bordereau and upload the transfer proof.
Environments#
| Environment | Base URL | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Sandbox | https://sandbox-api.wathiqaty.com/api/v1 | Test customers and policies, no real money. Reset weekly. |
| Production | https://api.wathiqaty.com/api/v1 | Real customers and money. Enabled after the go-live review. |
Credentials are per environment: a sandbox client never works in production.
What you need#
- A signed integration agreement with Wathiqaty (including the data processing terms), and your company live on the Wathiqaty portal.
- An HTTPS endpoint reachable from the internet for webhooks, or a scheduled job that polls the change feed.
- Any HTTP client. Examples are given in cURL, Node.js, Python and C#. The whole documentation is also available as Markdown for AI assistants: llms.txt, or add
.mdto any page URL.
